Angling
Located in the Glacial Lakes region of South Dakota, Aberdeen provides exciting sport fishing opportunities. Mina and Richmond lakes are both within 15 minutes of Aberdeen. Anglers go after walleye, northern pike, crappie, largemouth bass, perch, bluegills, channel catfish, and bullheads. Lake recreational areas feature camping, picnicking, swimming, boating, waterskiing, and hiking. Aberdeen is located about halfway between the Missouri River and Big Stone Lake (on the Minnesota border).
Season
Angling in South Dakota is enjoyed year-round, with ice fishing being one of the most popular outdoor activities during the winter months.
