Brown County Fair

Brown County Fair
The BCF began as a small county fair where livestock, vegetables, grains, and machinery were brought for display. In the 1920's it became known as the Tri-State Fair combining Minnesota and the two Dakotas. It ran for a full week and was known for its competition among purebred animal producers. Along with huge machinery displays, horse and auto racing were featured on alternate days. It was a major social and entertainment event before the days of radio and television. Since those early days, the fair has opened up to all residents of the county and includes a large variety of exhibits. Since then it has become a county fair where our big named entertainment act have become a huge draw and part of the fair. The Brown County Fair has provided a location that has created family traditions throughout many years.

The Brown County Fair is scheduled for August 10-August 16 at the Brown County Fairgrounds.

If this concert goes well, the Downtown Association will look at hosting three concerts throughout the summer on Main Street.
