As advocates for continued community development with an emphasis on events and tourism, the Aberdeen Hotel Alliance is proud to present the sixth annual SPOTLIGHT award. The Spotlight award is presented annually to a deserving individual or group who through their advocacy has substantially contributed to our community by shining a positive light on the community or area on a statewide, regional, or national basis.
The sixth annual Spotlight Award goes to a group working to ensure the pheasant population thrives in Northeast South Dakota. Pheasants Forever is creating an Aberdeen Pheasant Coalition. This gives incentives to people enrolling land in Brown County into CRP and South Dakota’s Game, Fish & Parks Walk In Program. Over 4,000 acres of good pheasant habitat will be open to public hunting for a minimum of 10 years with the help of this program.
Pheasants Forever is a nonprofit 501© (3) organization dedicated to increasing pheasant habitat, providing for Youth Programs, and advocacy in Washington. They hold a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, with 91.79% of their funds going into their programs. Pheasants Forever has over 140,000 members throughout the United States and Canada.
The Aberdeen Hotel Alliance would like to take this time to thank Pheasants Forever for supporting Aberdeen and our region. Each day-tripper and overnight visitor helps to replenish the triple “B” bucket. Your constant community support and involvement are greatly appreciated.
